		I arrived in Costa Rica in the province of Guanacaste in the year 1992. Until that time I often dreamed of leaving Germany and settling down somewhere else. In my lifetime I have seen a lot of different places, like Brazil, Mexico or Venezuela. However, finally it was the country of Costa Rica which impressed me the most. The beautiful nature, the culture and especially the friendliness of the natives, convinced me to stay at that time.
Our Hotel is located in the middle of the peaceful and pleasant natural paradise of Costa Rica. About 300 meters from the Pacific beach of Buena Vista and 7 km north of the tourist resort Sámara, right on the peninsula of Nicoya.

In 1993 I started to build the hotel Paraiso del Cocodrilo. Back then, I found myself in the middle of nowhere. All around me, there was just unspoiled wilderness. There were no hotels or tourists. There was almost nobody spending his vacation around here. The only exception had been Samara, where there were a few people from abroad. The infrastructure was just not existing, therefore I had to go by horse in order to buy things. However, today I am happy to say that I made the right decision. I have built up an extraordinary hotel, located in the middle of a nature reserve. Mass tourism has not yet affected this area, so everything is still peaceful and natural around here. Of course, I hope that it will remain that calm in future times, for the sake of myself and my guests as well.
